About Bharateeya Vidya Kendram

The campus was vibrant with pride and purpose celebrating the BVK Foundation Day in conjunction with International Yoga Day on 21st June 2025.The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Guest : Sri B.S.K.Agnihotra Sastry , Retired General Manager ,Steel Plants along with Guests of Honour: Sri M.Hari Prasad, Retired Deputy Director General, Geological Survey of India, Sri VR Satyanarayana garu, Secretary of our BVK and Special Invitee Sri B.Koteswara rao ,Yoga Instructor whose collective wisdom and presence added immense value to the occassion. The Chief Guest, in an inspiring speech, commended the college's commitment to holistic education and the integration of wellness practices like yoga into academic life. The Guests of Honour also shared their insights on the importance of values, discipline, and physical well-being in the educational sphere. The Special Invitee emphasized the role of yoga in shaping balanced individuals and a healthier society. A special highlight of the event was the felicitation of Sri B.Koteswara Rao, Yoga Teacher for their dedicated efforts in promoting yoga among students and staff, as well as the felicitation of the Chief Guest, honoring their invaluable contribution to society and their gracious presence at the event. The celebration culminated in a vibrant Yoga demonstration by students, symbolizing unity, health, and the spirit of India’s ancient wisdom.

Bharateeya Vidya Kendram (BVK) was born with an object of imparting education on sound lines of discipline, to inculcate a sense of patriotism, character-building and pride for the ancient Bharateeya culture.

Main Object

Bharateeya Vidya Kendram is providing quality education since 1957 and is committed to educate the young generation according to Bharteeya values and culture. The institute first started in 1957 in the name of Bharat Tutorial College, presently popular as BVK to the entire Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

College Profile

Situated in a lush green environment with small hills and huge trees, BVK college visalakshinagar is an embodiment of education. In a serene environment, students of Visalakshinagar BVK College enjoy a pleasant ambience.

Goddess of education ‘Saraswathi’ bestows her blessings to all the seekers of knowledge who enter the campus.
In the recent years, management of BVK has focused on beautification of premises and invested for refurbishment. Lawns were laid, painting of the campus was completed, washrooms were modernized and playground was elevated. Valmiki Bhavan, a spacious hall with fully air conditioned environment and modern acoustics for clarity of sound is another attraction. Now several organizations express their willingness to conduct their programs in this hall which can accommodate around 400 spectators.

This college was originally established in the year 1980 in the name of BT College. It got affiliation in the year 1996 in the name of Vijnana Bharathi. The college was shifted in the year 2004 from Dabagardens to Visalakshinagar. In 2011-12 the college name was changed from Vijnana Bharathi to BVK College Visalakshinagar.

Our Mission

This is a premier Institute dedicated to shape the future of healthcare, that cater to the demand for healthcare professionals. This college offers Medical lab technology(MLT) and Multipurpose health worker (MPHW) courses provided "Earn while you Learn", students will be earning after finishing their Intermediate Vocational course. We focus on providing high quality education training and hands on training experience to our students through free medical camps. The- state-of-the-art facilities, modern equipment and simulation labs ensure our students ,the best possible education and training. Our faculty comprises experience to professionals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of Healthcare system. Our goal is to equip our students with their knowledge, skills and attitude required to excel in that choosen career. We emphasize the importance of compassion ethics and professionalism in Healthcare practices.

  • Our theme of van Mahotsav 2024 is 'Ek Paudha Maa ke naam' which conveys to plant a tree in the name of our beloved mother and serve as she is, and in inverse, as the mother looks after her children, we are also to look after sapling to survive. This tree plantation festival is observed annually over a period of week starting from1st July to 7th July. But this year as per the instructions passed over by our Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi, we conducted the event on 27th June 2024 to create enthusiasm with regard to forest conservation and planting trees.

  • Kargil Vijay Diwas

  • A befitting tribute to our war heroes. An inspiring and impressive rally for a kilometer with 350 students was organized on this Kargil Vijay Diwas. A Kargil Soldier was invited, placed a wreath at Amar Jawan Stupa (Victory at Sea) on beach road and inspiring speech was delivered by our Chairman (Prof.G.Nageswararao) . Program started with Vandemataram and ended with National Anthem. Water, biscuits and mango fruit drink was distributed. It is memorable event for all and particularly for students. Slogans were given throughout the rally with placards and photos of martyrs displayed.

  • In Vedic Hindu tradition, the day is celebrated in honour of the sage Vyasa, who is seen as one of the greatest gurus in ancient Hindu traditions and a symbol of the Guru-Sishya tradition. Today, Thursday (1st August ) our BVK college of paramedical sciences, visalakshinagar falicitated an Eminent scholar and Guru Sri. Nemani Seshagiri Rao garu (Rtd.,RMS) & was also worshipped traditionally as part of Gurupuja.

  • Students of MLT and MPHW of BVK college of Paramedical sciences, Visalakshinagar campus conducted case studies on B M I analysis to Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram Participents.
    B M I stands for Body Mass Index based on height and weight. B M I is equal to weight in pounds/Height in meter square. B M I = wt in kgs/ Ht in meters squared With a passion of understanding the intersection of health & culture today, students of MLT & MPHW performed case studies by collecting the data of Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram participants exploring factors such as Age, gender , dietary habits, height & weight. Our goal is to better understand the health profile of unique population and identity potential areas for the health intervention.

  • Students of MLT and MPHW of BVK college of paramedical sciences, Visalakshinagar conducted free Medical camp (Blood grouping, BP & Random Blood Sugar) for Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram Participants. As a part of commitment to community service & Health care, the students focused on three essential Health checkups & Blood Pressure. Further provided personalized health counseling & recommendations. Students are proud to have made a positive impact on health being of Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram Participants.

  • The Siddha medicinal system not just focuses on treating the disease but it also takes into account the patient behavior, environmental aspects, age, habits and physical condition. Siddha medicine is one of the oldest traditional systems of medicine practiced in south India. It is based on the principles of Panchamahabhootam (earth, water, fire, air & sky) Siddha are in food, “humors” of the human body and herbal, animal or inorganic chemical compounds such as sulfer and mercury, used as therapies for treating diseases. Our students performed practical’s from the siddha practitioners assisting them in the free siddha Ayurveda camp in BVK College, Visalakshinagar Campus.

  • PCOS / PCOD Awarness Camp

  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder that affects a woman’s menstrual cycle, fertility, hormones, heart, blood vessels and appearance. PCOS is caused by a hormonal imbalance and insulin resistance. It is diagnosed based on symptoms, medical history, physical exam, blood tests, and ultrasound. Treatment focuses on symptoms, fertility goals and prevention of diabetes and heart disease through life style changes, medication & sometimes surgery. Women with PCOS have higher risks of health problems like diabetes, heart disease and mental issues.
    On October 21st ,2024 Dept of paramedical & Allied Health Sciences of our college conducted an awareness program on PCOD/PCOS for teenage girls. Dr.P.Naga Sudha Lakshmi , gynecologist is the chief speakers of the event..

  • Free Health Check-Up-Camp
  • 27th October 2024
  • A free health check up camp was organized by Department of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences, BVK College, Visalakshinagar on 27th October with an NGO-Youth for Seva . The camp aimed to promote health awareness and provide basic medical assistance to underprivileged students of Peddha Jalaripeta and local community members. 64 students & community members along with 32 volunteers have undergone free health checkup. Venue arranged at Shanthi Ashram, Beach road.

  • The auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima was celebrated with great reverence and enthusiasm at our BVK junior college , Visalakshinagar campus on 11-07-2025. The event paid homage to the invaluable role of teachers and mentors who shape the lives of students and illuminate their paths with knowledge and wisdom. The celebration was graced by our esteemed Chief Guest Dr.Nanduri Ramakrishna whose presence added great value to the program.
